Post Event Round Up

Music and Fizz in the Hampshire Hills – Saturday June 26th

The audience of some 340 or so enjoyed the far reaching views, atmosphere and the concert, which all came together on the day, complete with Glorious weather.

Josie Florence playing Keyboard and Singing and also accompanied at times by the Isle of Wight Youth Jazz Orchestra was very popular and the Audience took her to their hearts. The Orchestra in their own right ‘stood tall’ and were magnificent.

Beverley Craven and Frank Mead ‘captured’ the audience, playing some of her well known hits, as well as some of her lesser known singles from the past 30 years, passionately and with poise. She was persuaded to come back to play ‘Promise Me’ for a second time, when the audience came to the stage, joining in and rounding off what was a great evening, on a ‘high note’.

The success of the event was supported by lots of lovely people and organisations. Provisionally and taking account of direct donations, £8,000 has been raised for the benefit of Rowans Hospice and Wessex Cancer Trust. What became clear was that as well as raising money for the 2 worthwhile charities, it as importantly allowed those in the audience to enjoy a socially distanced event, the company of others, and for those performing to perform together on stage, some of whom had not performed for 2 years, or met previously.
